Impact of Social Movements

I was quite impressed and motivated by the Indian freedom fight and Chhatrapati Shivaji's efforts to build his own kingdom for the people speaking same language or following the same culture. Both the movements were revolutionary as they still motivate us and give us some learning based on which we can build the future of India today. But at the same time if you read the History of entire world in the times of Chhatrapati Shivaji or the Indian freedom fight, you can clearly figure out that though many of the countries fought one or many battles on field, they also had to fight with their countrymen belonging to different communities or having a different sets of thoughts or cultures. So most of the European countries had the revolution in their thoughts which later reflected in their literature, science and technology or even in their daily lives. The western countries are always ahead of us when it comes to leaving the bad traditions behind and modernize our thought process.

So the impact of a revolution in our thoughts is huge and India somehow missed it in the process of getting the freedom for our country and we were busy in enjoyment after the freedom that no one even thought that India will be far behind in the growth track in comparison with western countries. In that way the growth rate of Japan is commendable and they moved on so fast from their defeat in the world war two.

So coming back to the point of impact of social movements on our lives or on our thoughts, I would like to applaud the efforts taken by our prime minister Mr Narendra Modi by launching the movements like Swachha Bharat, Make in India, and Startup India. Even we should praise for Arvind Kejriwal's odd-even formula. I haven't yet got into the success or failure of those campaigns, but the impact is still huge. For example because of odd - even formula people of India at least realized that there is a serious issue of air pollution in the city and perhaps their children won't even survive in the city in future. This realization is enough according to me. So once the thought process is revolutionized, the campaigns will get better and better. Same with the campaigns launched by Mr Modi. They will get batter and better irrespective of the acting government or the decision makers because people will lead the campaigns to success further.

One thing I still worry is the negative impact of media as they are still into the blame games and they politicize every other issue. I can guarantee that many in the country got a negative impression of odd - even formula and it was just because of the India media because they portrayed it so. So let there be a social impact first, things will get better with the time.
